The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) maintain registers of drivers and vehicles in Great Britain.
Someone who is diagnosed with dementia may be able to continue driving for some time. However, they must fulfil certain legal requirements, including telling the DVLA of their diagnosis.
It is important that practitioners encourage their patients to fill in form CG1 and send it to the DVLA.
