Helping primary care to support people with dementia

Award in Understanding Dementia

March 18 2015

The Alzheimer’s Society and the Royal Society for Public Health have joined forces to create a new qualification to help people understand more about dementia.

The Level 2 Award in Understanding Dementia has been developed to raise standards in dementia care using a person centred approach to put compassionate care at the heart of the training.

The course consists of 6 guided learning hours and will be suitable for anyone caring for people with dementia, including those in health and social care. It will also be of value to anyone who has an interest in dementia by broadening their knowledge about dementia, including those who have become Dementia Friends or are thinking of becoming one.

Those wishing to offer the qualification can find more information by email or telephone 0207 265 7300.
