West Kent’s Befriending Service aims to provide social support and companionship to adults living in the community who are isolated, vulnerable or lonely.

  • A Volunteer Befriender will be carefully matched to a client and arrangements will be made to meet on a regular basis at mutually convenient times.
  • A visit will last between 1 – 3 hours depending on needs and availability.
  • It may also be possible to partake in the occasional social outing too, for example social groups, a local cafe, shops or garden centre or to help the client pursue an interest.

  • Shopping
  • Housework
  • Gardening and maintenance
  • Sitting service
  • Taxi service
  • Counselling or guidance
